We have a relaxed and friendly office located in Carrollton, TX, just outside of Dallas, and are looking for people who are willing to stretch their abilities to make STEM education materials more accessible and impactful to everyone.
Join the REV Robotics team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of educational and competitive robotics!
Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience
Primary Tasks:
  • Help build a product roadmap for current and future products
  • Create 3D CAD models of new products using OnShape, Fusion, SolidWorks
  • Determine the best manufacturing methods to use for various components
  • Perform engineering calculations for product development
  • Perform dimensional tolerance analysis (stack-up) to determine tolerance ranges
  • Apply GD&T principles to drawings for components and assemblies
  • Design fixtures for product testing/calibration/QA
  • Maintain a public-facing CAD model library
  • Create customer-facing product drawings
  • Supply marketing and customer success with information and materials
  • Create rough draft build guide instructions
  • Develop and perform testing on new and existing products

Alternate Tasks:
  • Program and wire FTC & FRC robots to enable testing
  • Operate CNC equipment
  • Operate powered manufacturing equipment (mill, lathe, saw, etc.)
  • Use hand tools for manufacturing and assembly
  • Perform testing on new and existing products
  • Represent REV at various events

Preferred Experience & Knowledge
  • Three to five years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Proven track record designing mass-market consumer products that shipped at high volume
  • Strong design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) discipline, with a demonstrated ability to balance cost, quality, and manufacturability
  • Deep experience designing plastic parts for injection molding, including wall thickness, draft, ribbing, boss, and living-hinge design
  • Experience manufacturing consumer products in Asia, with direct interaction with contract manufacturers and vendors
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to support tooling, first-article inspection, and production ramp
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform validation testing
  • FIRST® robotics experience (team membership and/or mentorship)
  • Highly proficient with CAD tools (OnShape, Fusion, SolidWorks)
  • Engineering focused on mechanical design, but good electrical and software knowledge
