Job description

Material Handler / Truck Loader - 2nd shift

Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Material Handler /Truck Loader - 2nd Shift in our Oakwood, GA facility. The Material Handler/Truck Loader works under limited supervision, performing duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment. The position reports to Group Leader /Shift Supervisor.

Hourly Rate $20 DOE and $4 shift differential

  • Receives and returns materials into stock inventory locations
  • Tags materials for proper identification
  • Pulls and assembles customer orders in order of delivery
  • Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers
  • Operates cranes to load and unload trailers
  • Operates forklift (5k or 10k) to load and unload trailers
  • Loads and secures material onto truck
  • Completes and production and quality paperwork; follows shop system data collection procedures.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, including the return of tools and equipment to designated areas.
  • Assures all machine operation centers are timely loaded with material for production
  • Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a Material Handler.
