Job description

Overview

Enterprise Mobility operates the Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo car rental brands. This role is a Return Agent at the National/Alamo brand. The Return Agent provides superior, friendly, efficient service during all aspects of the rental car return process.

Location: Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) – 338 Lucas Dr., Detroit, MI 48242.

Pay: Starts at $17 per hour plus monthly bonus incentives.

Schedule: Full‑time position. Requires open availability, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all customers using prescribed dialogue as they arrive on the lot.
  • Remind customers to check for personal belongings.
  • Identify any items found in the vehicle with a unit number, date, time, and forward them to lost and found.
  • Advise and review rental charges; provide an accurate receipt to the customer.
  • Provide information in a professional and courteous manner regarding transportation to the airport terminal.
  • Thank customers using the prescribed dialogue.
  • Inquire about service, satisfaction and document any dissatisfaction.
  • Check vehicles for damage on arrival and direct customers to the counter for damage/loss reports.
  • Determine if the vehicle is being returned with a full tank of gas.
  • Complete a service alert for any mechanical or body damage communicated by the customer.
  • Identify and manage vehicles on system hold for turnback, time or mileage, recall, or other lock; verify their movement to the proper lot location.
  • Tag vehicles flagged for grounding or preventative maintenance; verify movement to the correct lot.
  • Keep lot organized for ease of access and traffic flow.
  • Seek to improve job performance through self‑assessment, skill development, training and goal setting.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Minimum of 6 months customer service experience.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations within the last three years.
  • No drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record in the last five years.
  • Ability to work outdoors (parking lot and garage) in various weather conditions with long periods of standing.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including morning, evening, night, weekend and holiday.
