Job description

The Dept. of History is looking for a motivated individual to be responsible for the front office.  Employee staff's front office, answers questions, provides information regarding classes and our graduate program. Assists the Center for the SW and Medieval Studies program with various projects when needed.  Handles sensitive materials with TOUCHNET online ordering system in addition to checks and cash for the NMHR renewals & subscriptions. Serves as a liaison w/other depts and operating units to resolve day-to-day administrative and operational problems. 
This position assigns use of space for 3 dept. seminar rooms and Common Room. Compiles data and statistics required for various department reports.  Responsible for EVALKIT and providing information to that office.  Assists faculty newsletter editor compiling, verifying information, proofing and editing copy and complete layout of annual NEWSLETTER, which is mailed to 500 Department of History in the U.S   Compiles Faculty and PhD (current and recent grads) which is published in the AHA online and hardcopy of the Directory of History Depts.  Assists DA with annual inventory of dept. equipment including 79 computers and is responsible for processing equipment check-out forms required by UNM. Responsible for updating web page for 24 faculty members and 65 graduate students in promoting current milestones and Dept. events and other social media outlets. This requires online training to maintain/ update dept. webpage. Assists with special events such as new graduate student orientation, faculty retreats, HGSA meetings, Dept. Commencement ceremony, and Dept. colloquiums, opening /closing of the office daily and assist with other duties/projects as assigned.  If you enjoy working with a wide variety of people and a desire to work in a collaborative environment which encourages teamwork, please apply.
