Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the US NAVAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

Help
  • You will supervise and train a team of Tier 1 support staff (e.g., student coordinators) as well as coordinate taskers for contractors to ensure that they are effective at assisting with all support system requests and other duties as assigned.
  • You will oversee the support center operations, including but not limited to the case ticketing systems and processes, Knowledge Management (KM) articles, as well as 21st Century support via chatbot and other live and asynchronous support mechanisms.
  • You will ensure compliance with rules and regulations (e.g., response time, ticket closing processes) to remain in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations pertaining to active duty service members and reservists.
  • You will act as a liaison with external contractors (e.g., tech help desk), as well as academic partners to formulate training and Knowledge Management (KM) articles.
  • You will closely collaborate with internal technology and data constituents, as well as external Partner Institutions (PIs) and contractors to
    ensure optimal operations.
  • You will optimize case management processes per case requestor type (e.g. lead, applicant, student, alumni,
    faculty, staff), case type (e.g. password reset, course registration, command approver changes, eligibility status, request for information).

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing day-to-day higher education support center operations, while utilizing technologies to ensure the delivery of support services (i.e. salesforce service console, and/or education data architecture); 2) Developing comprehensive staff handbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge management (KM) articles designed to standardize operational workflows; 3) Employing a data-informed support center to include long-range planning and a personnel management; 4) Conducting research and data analysis to create strategic reports, policy briefs, or technical solutions that resolve complex operational issues; and 5) Managing staff by establishing performance priorities, distributing work assignments across multiple workflows, and providing documented feedback or evaluations to achieve organizational end goals.
