Job description

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Brandt Sports & Entertainment’s (“BSE”) retail operations — including both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce channels — with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, achieving sales and profitability targets, and upholding the integrity of the BSE brand.

Reporting to the Director of Merchandise, the Retail Store Manager plays a key role in driving merchandise strategy, managing daily operations, leading a high-performing retail team, and ensuring that the in-store and online shopping experiences reflect the same energy, pride, and professionalism that define BSE’s sports and entertainment brands.

 KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’s)

  •  Achievement of sales and profitability targets.
  • Customer satisfaction and service quality scores.
  • Efficiency and accuracy in inventory management and reporting.
  • Staff engagement, retention, and performance development.
  • Growth in e-commerce revenue and digital engagement.
  • Compliance with brand, financial, and operational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Retail Operations & Profitability

  • Manage all aspects of BSE’s retail operations, including the team store, game-day kiosks, and e-commerce platform.
  • Ensure store profitability by achieving or exceeding sales goals, managing expenses, and implementing cost-control strategies.
  • Oversee daily store operations including opening, closing, cash management, and adherence to all asset protection and loss prevention policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control, including receiving, pricing, stocking, and transfers between locations.
  • Manage operational processes to ensure efficient flow from stockroom to sales floor, maximizing product availability for guests.
  • Support the Director of Merchandise in seasonal buying, assortment planning, and product selection decisions based on sales performance, trends, and customer feedback.

Guest Experience & Brand Leadership:

  • Lead by example to create a guest-first, service-driven culture that reflects BSE’s values and enhances fan loyalty.
  • Deliver a retail experience that is engaging, approachable, and reflective of the excitement of live sports and entertainment.
  • Ensure that all team members consistently provide exceptional customer service and maintain high brand presentation standards.
  • Oversee the execution of visual merchandising and store displays, ensuring product presentation aligns with BSE and franchise branding guidelines.

E-Commerce & Digital Retail:

  • Oversee BSE’s online retail store, ensuring accurate product listings, pricing, photography, and stock availability.
  • Coordinate order fulfillment, returns, and shipping logistics to maintain service excellence.
  • Work with marketing and merchandise teams to develop online promotions and digital campaigns that drive traffic and conversion.
  • Analyze e-commerce analytics and sales data to optimize the digital shopping experience.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of retail associates to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of trust, motivation, and accountability, encouraging collaboration and personal growth.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Create staffing plans and schedules to meet business needs, particularly during game days and peak periods.
  • Ensure adherence to BSE policies, operational standards, and health & safety requirements.

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, conversion rates, average transaction value, and inventory shrinkage.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial and operational reports to the Director of Merchandise and Finance Department.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure all sales and expense data are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Assist with year-end and periodic inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Collaboration & Promotions:

  • Partner with Marketing and Sponsorship departments to develop and execute retail promotions tied to theme nights, events, and community initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Game Day & Fan Experience team to ensure retail activations contribute to the in-venue atmosphere.
  • Represent BSE retail operations with professionalism in all partner and vendor communications.
