Job description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Stores, the Director of Stores is the business leader for his/her region. This position has total accountability for the financial results, leadership and development of team members in the region. As Store Director you will drive the execution, consistency and performance of programs and initiatives within your region to ensure the company's annual business plan for sales, margin, cost control, customer service and health and safety are achieved. The Store Director is the service leader and liaison between Corporate Office and retail locations and must closely monitor field operations and results between stores, DC’s and Fleet with your region to identify opportunities for improvement of day to day processes. 


  • Achieve all sales, margin and cost control targets as per budget so that maximum profit for each store is realized.  
  • Review and analyze sales statistics by market to determine customer needs. Identify opportunities to achieve maximum market share and sales growth. 
  • Monitoring, reporting and reacting to all competitive situations that negatively impact stores in the region 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive succession plan for the region: Regional Sales Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Store Managers. 
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of the team to determine quality and room for improvement and supporting the development of each team member  
  • Oversee the merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and health and safety within each location within the region 
  • Oversee and ensure development and productivity of human resources within each store 
  • Visiting stores regularly and ensure completion of all required store reports and store audits within the specified time frame. 
  • Analyze KPI's, operating reports, exception reporting and peer reporting to maximize opportunities for improvement. (i.e.: monthly net contribution per month and year, contest achievements and employee headcount) 

  • 2 or more years’ experience in a Management Position required 
  • Minimum 3 years sales and/or customer service experience in a retail environment 
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead management teams and to develop staff through coaching, mentoring and training  
  • Post-secondary education in Business Management or a related field an asset 
  • Must be willing to travel (20-30%) 
  • Proven track record in customer service, sales, operations and merchandising 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; effective time management skills
