  • Write the night stock schedule and monitor time-off requests, vacation requests, overtime hours, and sick call-ins

  • Train new employees on stocking, facing, order tags, UPCs, checkout, sacking, and customer service; train supervisors on register handling and department services

  • Monitor crew productivity and conduct individual reviews with team members

  • Assist with customer service including checkout, sacking, carry-outs, cash accountability, and day-end reports

  • Set and reset new items, tags, and prices as needed, including in-store specials for prior ad items

  • Understand and troubleshoot store equipment including electrical systems, registers, coolers, compressors, and display cases

  • Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies

  • Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

  • You'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Perishables, Store Operations, and E-commerce

Your Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be able to:

  • Solve practical problems and make sound decisions with a variety of variables

  • Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages

  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with employees, vendors, and leadership

  • Stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and work independently through a full overnight shift

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; three to five years of similar or related work experience preferred
