Job description

My client is seeking a full time, direct hire engineer to support all departments in defining, developing, and sustaining product for the retail fueling industry.

Job ResponsibilitiesProduction Support
  • Collaborative effort with other engineering entities to design, build, and validate new production support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment as required to identify problems and implement corrective measures.
  • Continually evaluate production equipment and processes to identify areas of improvement.
  • Identify and maintain a critical component inventory to ensure quick repairs of production equipment.
  • Proven ability in programming PLC, HMI, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and other types of electronic devices.
Product Development
  • Take lead role electrical component identification, circuit design, CAD documentation, and programming requirements of machine controls for company proprietary equipment.
  • Clear and concise communication with company management on responsibility developments.
  • Write functional design requirement specifications, including safety standards, which can include hazardous location requirements based on expected functionality.
  • Involvement in defining software testing requirements and procedures.
  • Support customer startups as necessary.
  • Writing and processing of Engineering Changes.
  • Bill of Material and part number creation/management as required.
  • Cost/Time Estimation of projects.
  • Limited travel as required.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the above duties. The requirements below are representative of the conditions, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job.

Required Education, Skill, and Experience
  • Thorough understanding of electrical circuit design including single and three phase applications, VFD’s, mitigating EMF influences, and implementation of robust industrial electrical components.
  • Understanding intrinsically safe requirements and electrical standards such as: UL, ATEX, IECEx, etc.
  • Design for cost effectiveness and manufacturability with an ability to design and draft electrical schematics in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • A minimum of eight years’ experience designing automated equipment / machinery.
  • Experience successfully managing electrical/controls projects through the project Tollgate process.
  • HMI + PLC programming experience such as: Unitronics / Rockwell / ABB / Siemens.
  • C/C++ and Python programming experience is very desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong drive to meet all project requirements and timelines.
  • Proficient working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid computer skills with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office products.
  • Good verbal/written/technical communication.
  • Team player, able to take direction, and be self-directed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 8 years of product development experience.
  • CAD experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity of Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
