Job description

Position: SAP Project Manager (Retail) Location: NC (Upto 60% travel required), Preferred local to NC or open to relocate Type: Full Time
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead large-scale SAP implementation projects for our retail customer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP methodologies, deep knowledge of retail business processes, and hands-on experience in data migration and cutover activities. PMP certification is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end SAP implementation projects for retail, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and align SAP solutions with retail business processes.
- Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and progress reporting.
- Oversee data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Coordinate cutover plans and execution, collaborating with business and IT teams to ensure seamless transition to production.
- Apply SAP Activate or ASAP methodologies and leverage best practices throughout project lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops, status meetings, and steering committee presentations.
- Manage third-party vendors and integration partners as needed.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- 15+ years of SAP project management experience, with at least 2 full-cycle implementations in retail environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of retail business processes (e.g., merchandising, supply chain, POS, inventory management).
- Strong knowledge of SAP methodologies (ASAP, Activate).
- Proven experience with data migration and cutover strategies in SAP projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- PMP certification highly preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Experience managing S/4HANA implementations.
- Agile project management experience.
- SAP certification(s).
