This role provides increased responsibility and leadership exposure in a fast paced, mission driven organization.


What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Support the Store Manager in planning and organizing daily production operations
  • Lead and motivate associates to meet individual and team production goals
  • Provide hands-on training and coaching to new and existing team members
  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and adjust priorities throughout the day
  • Ensure merchandise is processed efficiently and meets quality standards
  • Track production metrics and communicate results to leadership
  • Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Assist with inventory control and loss prevention efforts
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with donors and shoppers
  • Uphold Goodwillโ€™s mission and values in all interactions

Schedule & Availability

  • Full-time schedule
  • Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and holidays
  • Reliable transportation required for each scheduled shift

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One year of supervisory experience in retail or a related environment OR
    one year of experience in a Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake associate role OR one year combination of both
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and lead a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfort using basic computer systems and POS tools

Supervision

  • Assists with supervising retail store employees on shift
  • Typically leads 4โ€“12 full- and part-time associates per shift
  • Employees supervised work in the same location

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs (frequent lifting up to 25 lbs)
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands throughout shift
  • Medium physical demand work environment
