YOU WILL BE:

The Art Director is responsible for creating compelling editorial imagery for Saks Global, overseeing projects from concept through to completion. You will serve as the architect of our brand's aesthetic narrative, breathing life into strategic concepts across our omnichannel landscape. You will shepherd high-impact projects from initial concept to final execution, ensuring every visual touchpoint-from immersive digital experiences to polished editorial campaigns-reflects a sophisticated, cohesive identity. In this role, you will bridge the gap between inspired storytelling and commercial excellence within the luxury fashion and beauty space.

YOU WILL DO:

Translate the Creative Director/Lead Art Director's vision into compelling visual concepts and creative executions across campaigns, seasonal advertising, editorial content, lookbooks, events, digital experiences, social media and direct mail.

Art direct photography and video shoots across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle categories, ensuring a consistent aesthetic, strong visual storytelling, and adherence to brand standards.

Design and develop print and digital layouts with a strong understanding of typography, composition, imagery, and luxury retail design principles.

Execute and maintain the brand's visual identity across multiple customer touchpoints while ensuring consistency and attention to detail.

Present creative references, mood boards, and design solutions that support the Creative Director/Lead Art Director's vision and help guide project development.

Collaborate with photographers, stylists, retouchers, designers, and production partners to bring creative concepts to life.

Review and mark up retouching proofs, providing detailed feedback on color, composition, product accuracy, and image quality to ensure all final assets meet brand standards.

Partner closely with retouchers to oversee image post-production, ensuring consistency, refinement, and adherence to the intended creative direction.

Partner with internal teams and external brand partners to develop co-op and collaborative content that meets the store's creative standards.

Stay informed on fashion, luxury retail, art, photography, design, and culture, continually bringing fresh inspiration and relevant references to the creative process.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines, production needs, and creative excellence in a fast-paced environment.

YOU WILL BRING:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of art direction and design experience within fashion, luxury retail, editorial, or related creative industries.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in campaign carry-through, editorial design, photography art direction, and visual storytelling.

  • Proven experience art directing fashion, beauty, and lifestyle photo shoots, including on-set direction and collaboration with photographers, stylists, and creative teams.

  • Exceptional typography, layout, and design skills with a refined aesthetic and strong attention to detail.

  • Deep understanding of luxury fashion, retail, photography, visual culture, and contemporary design trends.

  • Experience overseeing retouching and post-production, including reviewing and marking up retouching proofs to ensure brand standards and image quality.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma and presentation tools such as Google Slides or Keynote.

  • Strong knowledge of print production, color management, and digital asset creation across multiple platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of creative excellence and meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across creative, marketing, merchandising, and external partner teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Passion for fashion, art, photography, interiors, and culture, with an ongoing commitment to seeking inspiration and emerging creative influences.
