DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will manage assigned Capital Projects within ArcelorMittal Calvert's facility in collaboration with stakeholders, governing individual portfolios to achieve completion according to planned expectations. The Capital Project Manager will also coordinate with internal teams, OEMs, engineering partners, contractors, and third-party companies to support project implementation in compliance with company rules to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.
The Basics:
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil / Structural, Industrial, or Production Engineering; Or combination of education and experience
  • 8-10 years' experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment supporting engineering and Capital project management through approval, execution, commissioning, and delivery
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint) and project documentation / reporting tools
  • 8-10 years of experience managing and coordinating contractors, OEMs, engineering firms, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of jobs
  • Experience developing project budgets, schedules, cost estimates, scopes of work, specifications, RFIs, reports, and process documentation

The Extras:
  • Certified Project Management Professional preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project software
  • Familiarity with SharePoint database and structured document-control systems
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with industrial modernization projects, manufacturing equipment integration, process improvement, or sustainability / compliance initiatives preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Manage capital projects from inception to completion following the project management workflow
  • Responsible and accountable to develop project scope, budget, schedule, cost estimates, and performance reporting
  • Develop technical documents, such as scopes of work, bid packages, equipment specifications, RFIs, and turnover requirements
  • Qualify bids, support procurement activities, and coordinate vendor, OEM, and engineering clarifications
  • Ensure project success through construction execution, equipment installation, commissioning, and manufacturing integration
  • Ensure receipt of as-built drawings, operating and maintenance manuals, equipment maintenance plans, and closeout documentation
  • Manage multiple contractors, contracts, engineering resources, OEMs, and third-party partners
  • Ensure project and contractor safety compliance, quality requirements, and site rule adherence
  • Support reporting of projects to management through clear updates on schedule, budget, risks, issues, and key decisions
  • Lead risk assessments, mitigation planning, and issue resolution to protect project delivery and business goals
  • Support continuous improvement of the project management system, including lessons learned and process documentation
