Description Job Title:Operation ManagerLocation:PlainwellReportingto:GeneralManagerEssential Job Functions:Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Facility.Oversees efficiency throughmonitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with Superintendents.Directs Superintendentswith respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary.Maintainsacceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification.Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues.Help develop the management team of theFacilitythrough active participation in group meetings.Trains and develops Superintendentsproviding guidance on managerialand teamworkskillsto attain department objectives.Works closely with the Quality AssuranceDepartment to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced.Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced.Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues.Contribute to the ongoing development ofJBSpolicies and procedures.Communicate to all levels within the organizationon information as needed.All otherduties asdirected byGeneralManagerExperience Required:High school diploma or GED equivalent with preferred college degree.Minimum 5 years'supervisoryexperience working in meatindustry.Skills/Abilities Required:Strongwritten and verbalEnglishcommunication skills, problem solvingskillsand leadership qualities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaborativelywith other.Extensive knowledge ofmeat products, equipment and specifications.Must be able to work inavery cold,damp andnoisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machinery.Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work.Bilingual skills a plusbut not required.
