Job description

The Norfolk Admirals are seeking a motivated, dedicated, and eager intern to join the Merchandise Department for the Summer 2026 Semester. This entry-level internship will provide hands-on exposure to merchandise operations, e-commerce, inventory management, and the business side of professional sports. The ideal candidate is located in or near the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, enrolled in a college or university program that provides academic credit for internship completion, and carries themselves with a willingness to learn, grow, and contribute in a professional environment.
The beginning of this internship will coincide with the start of Summer 2026 and run through September 2026. This internship will primarily consist of office and merchandise operations responsibilities during normal business hours, with flexible scheduling available based on class schedules and availability.
The job duties of the Merchandise Intern are the following:
Office Responsibilities
  • Assist the Merchandise Department with organizing and maintaining inventory
  • Fulfill and ship online merchandise orders through Shopify
  • Assist with online merchandise sales and e-commerce operations
  • Help prepare merchandise displays and organize storage areas
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with inventory tracking
  • Work alongside Admirals staff to support day-to-day merchandise operations
  • Assist with special projects related to merchandise and retail initiatives
  • Complete additional directives as assigned by the Internship Supervisor

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Interest in sports business, retail, e-commerce, or operations
  • Willingness to learn Shopify and other merchandise management systems
  • Ability to lift and move boxes of merchandise when necessary
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
