Purpose of Position:
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment. This includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge, and embodying Sportsman's Warehouse values in all interactions.
Sportsman's Warehouse Outfitter - Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers, identifying their needs, providing product recommendations, and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge across multiple departments to assist customers with merchandise selection and answer questions accurately.
  • Process customer purchases, returns, exchanges, and other transactions accurately while following company policies and cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, facing product, rotating merchandise, building displays, installing signage, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Receive, unload, verify, and process incoming freight while ensuring inventory accuracy and timely replenishment of merchandise.
  • Assist with backroom organization, inventory management, cycle counts, price changes, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Operate material handling equipment and safely move merchandise throughout the store in accordance with company safety policies (as authorized and trained).
  • Maintain department cleanliness and ensure aisles, displays, and work areas remain safe and free of hazards.
  • Support seasonal merchandise transitions, promotional events, store resets, and special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with fellow Outfitters and leadership to meet sales, customer service, operational, and inventory goals.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, loss prevention standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and climb ladders or step stools.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more with assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for handling merchandise, operating a cash register, pricing merchandise, and other routine tasks.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment, as trained.
  • Required to use company-issued walkie-talkies and other approved on-site communication methods while on duty.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, including indoor and outdoor conditions during merchandise loading, unloading, and customer carry-outs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and leadership in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to visually inspect merchandise, read labels, operate equipment, and identify potential safety hazards.
