This Business Controller positionย is responsible forย the financial activities of theย Retailย Channel for Salomon in the US and Canada.ย As a key member of the Business Controlling Team,ย theseย responsibilitiesย include:ย 

  • The implementation of GTM strategy and steering theย Retailย GTM teams towards achieving profitable growth targets.ย ย 
  • The on-going definition,ย developmentย and reportingย within theย Retailย organization.ย

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESย 

  • Business Controlling โ€“ Planning & Controlย 
    • Manage all aspects of the GTM financial budgeting and forecasting process by working withย regionalย commercial management andย the globalย finance and commercial teams.ย ย 
    • Financial and business planning, steering & monitoring performance andย optimizingย operating capital.ย 
    • Prepare,ย analyzeย and report financial results โ€“ sales trends, product gross margins, average net selling price analysis, average cogs, direct operating expenses,ย inventoryย and balance sheet itemsย 
    • Analyze GTM results versus budget, forecast and prior year (sales, margins, operatingย expensesย and inventory management) and drive actions needed to meet financial targets & overall GTM objectivesย 
    • Sign off on month end processes including journal entries, OPEX control and GM analysis in SAP.ย ย 
    • Provideย financial impactย analysis ofย Retailย KPIs/discounting structures including:ย 
      • Traffic/ AOV/ Conversion/ Returnsย 
      • End of life discountingย 
      • Business caseย preparation and inputย on new store openingsย 
  • Financial Reporting and Analysisย ย 
    • Managerial and legal reporting using OneStream management reportingย 
    • Conduct monthly financial reviews & governance meetings with Commercial Leadership & GTM teamsย 
    • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis of financial data to support decision making on channels, customers, programs, etc.ย 
    • Enhance management reporting to improve communication of critical information andย maintainย accountability for financial performance, to individuals at all levels in the organization.ย 
    • Perform internal and external benchmark analysis on key business areas andย identifyย opportunities to improve operations and deliver more profitable growth.ย 
  • Support Sales and Operational Planning Processย 
    • Inventory management/working capital analysis & forecastingย 
    • DSI/inventory turnover/sell-thru analysisย 
    • Replenishment order review and analysisย 
    • Primary Finance liaison withย Retailย Merchandising and Marketing teamsย

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related work inย Financialย analysisย andย business controllingย with background in Excel, financial metrics.ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Financeย or related field from four-year college or university; MBA or other related advanced degree a plusย 
  • SAP FICO & BI systems experience a plusย ย 
  • Experience in OneStream a plusย 
  • Modeling in AI a plusย 
  • Strong ability to build business cases, have helicopter view but also detailed analytical skills when neededย
