Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician with WCTractor, you will utilize your top-tier customer service and technical skills to exceed customer expectations and maximize customer retention. This position focuses on hay customers, with an emphasis on repairing hay equipment (round balers, square balers, etc.).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits
  • Manage all on-site diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and test tasks
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
  • Advise customers on equipment
  • Operate a service vehicle safely, including loading, transporting, and unloading tools and parts

Field Service Technician Qualifications
Minimum requirements for the Field Service Technician position include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Valid driver's license, held for at least 3 years
  • Driving record must meet WCTractor's insurance carrier requirements. Applicants with a DUI/DWI conviction within the past 5 years, or more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years, will not meet minimum qualifications for this role
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical (or equivalent physical) as a condition of driving a company service vehicle
  • At least 2 years of verifiable field service, mobile mechanic, or equivalent hands-on mechanical/technical experience
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds, and to stand, kneel, and bend for up to eight hours a day in varied outdoor/field conditions
  • Ability to work independently at customer locations with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A technical degree or relevant certification is preferred but not required
