Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Coordinator with demonstrated expertise in private label (PL) programs, with Walmart experience preferred, to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle from initial concept and fabric development through final production while ensuring products meet cost, quality, and compliance standards.
This position plays a key role in driving the product development process for the category, partnering closely with cross-functional teams while managing timelines, vendor relationships, and development execution from concept through production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of overseeing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with Design and Merchandising to build seasonal assortments aligned with private label program strategies and customer needs
  • Source and develop fabrics, trims, embellishments, and wash techniques; manage costing, strike-offs, lab dips, and material approvals
  • Drive sample development from proto through final approval, ensuring execution aligns with design intent, margin goals, and retailer requirements
  • Create and maintain Time & Action (T&A) calendars for all development milestones, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
  • Review and approve packaging, labeling, hangtags, and branding elements for retailer compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Technical Design, Production, Sourcing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless product development execution
  • Manage communication with overseas factories and vendors regarding development status, approvals, and issue resolution
  • Anticipate and resolve challenges related to fabric, trims, fit, construction, quality, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Analyze product costs and identify opportunities to improve margins while maintaining quality and design integrity
  • Track development samples, approvals, and key milestones to support on-time delivery
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, consumer preferences, and innovations in fabrics, garment construction, and manufacturing techniques

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of product development experience within private label (PL) apparel programs; Walmart experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric development, fit processes, and apparel testing standards
  • Experience managing the product development lifecycle from concept through production
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and PLM systems; familiarity with retailer development portals is a plus
  • Strong understanding of costing, sourcing, and vendor management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple categories, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and vendors
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented in a deadline-driven environment
