Job description

OUTGROWN YOUR OWN BACKYARD? COME PLAY IN OURS.

At Columbia, we're as passionate about the outdoors as you are. And while our gear is available worldwide, we're proud to be based in the Pacific Northwest, where natural wonders are our playground.

Every product we make and every task we undertake is inspired by the famous words of our founder Gert Boyle: "It's perfect. Now make it better." As pioneers of relentless improvement, we are constantly evolving.

We believe the outdoors is ours to protect and strive to keep our planet healthy. We believe in empowering people to experience the outdoors to the fullest.

And we believe in you.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Retail Technology team delivers the digital capabilities that power Columbia Sportswear's retail stores and support exceptional consumer experiences across our brick-and-mortar business. We partner closely with Merchandising, Retail Operations, Asset Protection, Store Operations, and Technology teams to ensure our retail systems evolve alongside the needs of the business.

As a Digital Product Owner, Retail Technologies, you'll own the product roadmap and backlog for a portfolio of retail merchandising capabilities that help our stores operate more effectively and profitably. You'll serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating complex business needs into clear requirements and ensuring high-impact solutions are delivered through agile development practices.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving business problems, influencing priorities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and turning ideas into scalable technology solutions. You'll help shape the future of merchandise setup, pricing, promotions, markdowns, couponing, and other retail capabilities that directly impact our stores and consumers.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating business objectives into a clear roadmap that delivers value for retail stakeholders and consumers.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Retail Operations, and other business teams to identify opportunities, gather requirements, and define technology solutions.
  • Lead quarterly planning activities by evaluating business priorities, balancing team capacity, and ensuring engineering resources are focused on the highest-value work.
  • Develop high-quality user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation using Jira and Confluence.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, architects, QA partners, and fellow Product Owners to ensure successful delivery of product enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, product reviews, and user acceptance testing activities within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Use business insights, operational data, stakeholder feedback, and ROI considerations to make informed prioritization decisions and recommendations.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and influence stakeholders to achieve alignment, remove obstacles, and deliver meaningful business outcomes.

YOU ARE

  • A relationship builder who thrives at the intersection of business and technology.
  • An exceptional communicator who can translate technical concepts for business audiences and business needs for technical teams.
  • A strategic thinker who can balance long-term roadmap planning with immediate operational priorities.
  • A collaborative problem solver who enjoys influencing decisions across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Adaptable, curious, and energized by working in a fast-paced retail environment.

YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting business technology solutions.
  • Experience working with retail business processes such as merchandising, pricing, promotions, markdowns, inventory, assortment management, or store operations.
  • Proven success managing product backlogs, writing user stories, defining requirements, and leading Agile product delivery activities.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile planning and documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to make data-driven business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting retail technology platforms, merchandising systems, pricing engines, promotion management solutions, or enterprise retail applications.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), including retail merchandising, pricing, promotions, product management, or related ERP capabilities.
  • Experience supporting Dynamics 365 Store Commerce or comparable store systems that enable point-of-sale, in-store operations, and retail execution.
  • Experience supporting large-scale retail organizations with complex store operations and cross-functional stakeholder groups.
  • Experience collaborating with Agile technology teams to deliver scalable business solutions.
