Position Overview:

As an Area Loss Prevention Manager, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding company assets and ensuring a safe environment for both customers and employees. Leading all Loss Prevention programs and field personnel within your assigned locations, you’ll drive success across shortage reduction, safety initiatives, technology management, and team training, working closely with your direct supervisor to foster a culture of accountability and excellence. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the implementation and execution of all Loss Prevention strategies, policies, and initiatives within your area, protecting assets and promoting a secure workplace.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor Loss Prevention personnel, supporting their ongoing development and career growth.
  • Oversee and conduct thorough internal and external investigations, reducing theft and fraud while upholding company standards and adhering to Canadian Federal and Provincial laws.
  • Collaborate with store teams to design and roll out loss reduction plans, monitoring progress throughout the inventory cycle, and driving compliance.
  • Manage and maintain Loss Prevention technology, including CCTV, Access Control, EAS, and Intrusion Detection systems, leveraging exception-based reporting to proactively identify risk.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on RFID Inventory systems, providing ongoing training for field teams and troubleshooting operational issues in partnership with the LP Inventory Accuracy team.
  • Deliver dynamic training to store staff and management on Loss Prevention awareness, inventory accuracy, cash management, and related areas.
  • Support stores with financial inventory and item cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration within the LP team and across store departments to identify trends and share best practices.
  • Build and nurture positive business relationships both inside and outside the company.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly Loss Prevention audits, providing actionable feedback and continuous support to stores.
  • Maintain consistent, dependable attendance and embrace other responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Loss Prevention or Asset Protection, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
  • University or College degree/credits preferred.
  • Valid Provincial Security License and working knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Internal interviewing training or certifications (e.g., Wicklander-Zulawski); Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) designation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and training on retail investigations, including internal/external theft, ORC, and workplace issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Loss Prevention technology and methods (CCTV, covert surveillance, EAS, Access Control, Intrusion Detection systems).
  • Ability to collaborate with law enforcement and legal professionals on criminal and civil matters.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and RFID technology is an asset.
  • Proven leadership skills—capable of setting goals, motivating teams, and handling sensitive matters with discretion and integrity.
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills, thriving in independent, remote work settings.
  • Flexibility to work on varied schedules as needed, with the physical ability to stand/walk for an entire shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular travel within assigned locations and occasional travel as needed.

Annual Salary:  $92,000 - $98,000 CA
