Senior Roadway Engineer – Shape the Future of Florida’s Infrastructure

Location: Sanford / Orlando, FL

Are you a passionate roadway engineer ready to lead impactful projects that shape how communities connect and move? We’re seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to take the lead in delivering innovative, high-quality transportation solutions across Central Florida.

In this role, you won’t just design roads, you’ll drive the vision, guide teams, and influence projects from concept to construction. From complete streets and urban corridors to major highway improvements, your work will enhance mobility, safety, and quality of life for the communities you serve.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead with impact – Guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex roadway projects on time and within budget.
  • Own the design – Serve as Engineer of Record, overseeing technical specifications, design reviews, and construction administration.
  • Design transformative projects – Work on roadway widening, resurfacing, intersections, roundabouts, bicycle & pedestrian paths, and more.
  • Collaborate and innovate – Partner with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to solve challenges and deliver forward-thinking solutions.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of roadway engineering experience (consulting or public sector)
  • Florida P.E. license
  • Strong expertise in:
    • FDOT Design Manual & Standards
    • Florida Greenbook & MUTCD
    • Roadway design, drainage, and plan production
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and deliver results
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for collaboration

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with tools like Deltek Vantagepoint or Smartsheet is a plus
