Job description

Job Summary

This part-time positionis responsible formaintainingice quality to NHL standards through scheduled resurfacing and other assigned ice maintenance.

Scheduled hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ice resurfacing, ice edging, and overall ice quality.

  • Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment, including blade changes, exercising adequate judgement to ensure completion of tasks as assigned.

  • Assistinmaintaining, cleaning, and safety checking all machines, and areas surrounding as needed.

  • Monitor all refrigeration equipment, keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment, and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment is malfunctioning.

  • Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and setup game day ice crew area.

  • Responsible for completing NHL game checklist.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent.

  • Two (2)years experienceoperatingice resurfacing equipment.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Knowledge of applicable working hazards and safety precautions

  • Understanding of best practices with ice surfacing equipment operation and ice edging.

  • Knowledge of hand and mechanicals tools and equipment.

  • Outstanding customer service principles,practicesand standards for a diverse customer base.

  • Be able to work a varying schedule. Scheduled hours mayinclude,nights, holidays, and weekends.

  • Time management and the ability to multitask.

  • Experience with Ice Edger equipment (preferred).

  • Forklift experience (preferred).

  • Mechanically inclined (preferred).

  • Certified Ice Technician certification from U.S. Ice Rink Association (STAR) program (preferred).

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting,loudand distracting

  • Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures

  • Ability to use hands and fingers on office and mobile technology

  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people

  • Ability to move comfortable throughout the arena with minimal accommodations

  • Ability to stand on feet forlong periodsof time, walk long distances and climb stairs.

  • Ability to work comfortable around special effects including, but not limitedto:haze, strobe lights, lasers,etc

  • Must be able to walk up to 0.5 miles to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying earther conditions and during high-traffic event times
