Status:  Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $19.00 - $22.00


Work Schedule

Sunday: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 

Monday: Off 

Tuesday: 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. 

Wednesday: Off 

Thursday: 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. 

Friday: 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. 

Saturday: 9:45 a.m.-6:15 p.m. 

Approximately 27 hours per week. This schedule is subject to change based on the operational needs of the ReStore.

Through donations, shopping at our ReStores, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.


Job Summary:

The ReStore Associate supports daily retail, warehouse, and online sales operations in a fast-paced environment by assisting customers, processing purchases, preparing and displaying merchandise, fulfilling online orders, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store. This position works collaboratively with employees and volunteers to support efficient daily operations and provide excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Sales

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with merchandise, answering questions, and supporting in-store sales. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase sales, promote available merchandise, and encourage new and repeat      customer business.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and provide cash register coverage during peak hours and employee meal periods. 
  • Collaborate with employees and volunteers to support daily sales operations and store initiatives. 

Merchandise and Store Operations

  • Continuously identify, recommend and implement opportunities to improve the cleanliness, organization, safety,      appearance, and overall shopping experience of the ReStore.
  • Unload trucks and safely move merchandise to designated areas. 
  • Stock and replenish the sales floor to ensure merchandise is organized and readily available. 
  • Prepare donated merchandise for sale by assembling, testing, cleaning, pricing, and displaying items appropriately.
  • Ensure essential equipment and supplies are available, organized, and properly stored. 

Online Sales and Inventory

  • Monitor and process online orders, notify customers when orders are ready for pickup, and follow up on overdue pickups. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by archiving sold Shopify items, deactivating applicable ThriftCart listings, and updating daily listing records. 
  • Update sales-tracking spreadsheets using Shopify, eBay, and other applicable sales data. 
  • Schedule and maintain promotional discounts and website banners in Shopify, as directed. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience in retail, warehouse operations, sales, customer service, or a related environment. 
  • Experience with marketing, merchandising, e-commerce, or online sales is preferred. 
  • Flexibility to work additional hours based on operational needs, including reporting early or remaining after a scheduled shift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of home-improvement products, furniture, appliances, and home decor. 
  • Strong customer service, sales, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills, both in person and by telephone. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and use Shopify, eBay, ThriftCart, point-of-sale systems, and other applicable platforms. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing merchandise, inventory records, online orders, and sales information. 
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, adapt to changing operational needs, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Dependability, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees and volunteers while assisting in different areas of store operations.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. 
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and move merchandise. 
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 75 pounds, independently or with assistance and appropriate equipment.
