What types of projects or hands-on experiences can employees expect when working at a Restoration Academy?

At a Restoration Academy, employees often engage in a variety of hands-on restoration projects, such as repairing water or fire damage, mold remediation, and structural rebuilding. Team members typically work alongside experienced professionals and may rotate through different project types to gain a comprehensive understanding of restoration techniques. What is a Restoration Academy?

A Restoration Academy is an educational program or institution focused on teaching skills related to the restoration of buildings, artwork, historical artifacts, or natural environments. These academies provide hands-on training and theoretical knowledge for careers in restoration and preservation. Students learn techniques such as conservation, repair, and maintenance to help restore and protect valuable cultural or natural assets. Restoration Academies may offer certifications, diplomas, or specialized workshops, often collaborating with museums, heritage organizations, or environmental groups.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Restoration Technician, and why are they important?

Familiarity with industry equipment, moisture meters, air movers, and certifications like IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) are typically required. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills help technicians interact with clients and coordinate with restoration teams. These competencies ensure efficient property recovery, client satisfaction, and adherence to safety and industry standards.
