Job description

Summary of Job Description:

The Manager, PR & Corporate Communications implements Panda’s communications strategies and activities, focusing on PR strategy and agency management as well as supporting corporate communications. This position manages day-to-day execution of PR and Communications plans in partnership with cross-functional partners and agencies. The Manager leads a small team of associates, developing and coaching them to elevate their performance. The PR & Communications Team is part of the Corporate Communications team within the Marketing Department. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Campaign and Brand PR: Spearheads the development and implementation of Panda's PR strategies through multi-channel national campaigns designed to boost sales and strengthen brand reputation. Vets, evaluates, and recommends earned brand and influencer partnerships to drive campaign success and support evergreen initiatives.
  • Always-On PR: Develops and executes proactive, always-on / evergreen PR programming aimed at elevating Panda's brand reputation and sustainably generating consumer demand.
  • Executive Communications: Crafts and drives comprehensive executive communications strategies, including preparing executives for speaking and media opportunities.
  • Crisis Communications: Provides support for proactive corporate communications initiatives that build reputation, while also playing a key role in reactive, rapid-response crisis management and preparedness.
  • Community Relations: Cultivates best-in-class brand reputation by amplifying news of Panda's community care and corporate giving, including the identification of compelling storytelling opportunities and the creation of the overarching earned media strategy.
  • People Development: Manages a team of PR & Communications associates, developing and coaching them to maximize their performance. Works with PR and Comms leadership on recruiting and retaining associates.

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Public/Government Relations
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or influencer marketing representing an organization in the community, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment, with increasing management/project management experience.
  • Internal communications experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position. 
  • If hired, completion of annual store training.


Pay Range: M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
