POSITION DUTIES

How would you like to work in downtown Annapolis, surrounded by the charm of this historic city and the Chesapeake Bay? Not to mention famous restaurants, coffee shops, and the beautiful city dock.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Comptroller's Taxpayer Services Division is looking for 2 Training Representatives to join our team in the Training Unit of the Case Management and Training Section. The successful candidate swill be selfmotivated, detailoriented, and capable of delivering highquality training through clear instruction, accurate guidance, and consistent adherence to established policies and procedures.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe main purpose of this position is to independently provide training to employees within the Taxpayer Services Division.\r\n\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Prepare and submit training manuals to the supervisor for review.\r\n Delivery of basic tax training to new hires and other units within the Taxpayer Services Division.\r\n The incumbents may also accept and respond to calls and cases from taxpayers, agency employees, managers, supervisors, and directors.\r\n Incumbents who successfully complete their probationary period can be considered for telework.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPLEASE NOTE: Employee must be able to work in a full-time capacity from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a. m. to 5:00pm.Leave may be limited during certain times of the year due to high volume events, projects or specialassignments.Evening and weekend work may be required especially during peak times of the year.Work may involve special physical demands such as lifting 25 to 35 pounds.Employees are unable to prepare tax returns outside of the requirements of the job or work for privateaccounting services.Employees must be able to tolerate an occasional uncomfortable or unpleasant experience presented byupset or irate taxpayers.Employees are eligible to telework as approved by management.This position is considered one of the agency's emergency essential personnel.\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate, including or supplemented by a course in bookkeeping or accounting. \r\nExperience: Three years of experience performing work in tax assessments, collections, investigations, examinations, adjustments or taxpayer services within two or more of the specialized fields of revenue administration, or performing work in tax assessments, collections, investigations, examinations, adjustments or taxpayer services within the motor fuel/motor carrier tax field. The specialized fields may include sales and use tax, income tax, admissions and amusement tax, withholding tax, alcohol and tobacco tax, and any other revenue levy authorized by the legislature.\r\nNotes: \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Candidates may substitute the possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or universityfor one year of the required experience.\r\n Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in finance technician classification or finance technician specialty codes in the financial clerical and technician field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n** For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html.\r\n\r\n
