Respiratory Therapy Managers are healthcare professionals who oversee the respiratory therapy department in hospitals or medical facilities. They are responsible for managing the staff of respiratory therapists, coordinating patient care, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing department policies. Their duties also include budgeting, staff training, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes. Respiratory Therapy Managers play a vital role in maintaining high standards of respiratory care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.

What does a respiratory therapy manager do?

As a respiratory therapy manager, you supervise respiratory therapy technicians and personnel, oversee department operations, approve and direct budgets, hire and manage employees, and fill in for respiratory therapy technicians as necessary. Your responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy treatment to patients, supervising and disciplining respiratory technicians, reporting to department heads or directors, preparing reports, and utilizing, evaluating, and maintaining equipment. Your job duties also include direct patient communication and treatment, training and evaluating personnel, and delegating tasks to staff.
