Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, where you will lead and oversee respiratory care services to ensure timely, high-quality patient treatment and compliance with healthcare standards.
Job Summary
In this leadership role, you will supervise respiratory therapy personnel and manage clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective respiratory care. You will develop and implement therapy programs, monitor patient outcomes, and maintain equipment safety and functionality. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and participation in discharge planning are key components of this position.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, assessment, and improvement of respiratory therapy programs, policies, and patient care protocols.
  • Manage clinical operations and resources to ensure safe and appropriate care delivery.
  • Interpret test results and administer prescribed respiratory treatments, including advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and evaluate patient progress to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Recruit, train, and develop respiratory therapy staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Participate in budget planning and departmental reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years acute care respiratory experience; emergency, inpatient, and outpatient experience preferred.
  • At least two years of clinical leadership experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current, unrestricted Respiratory Therapy License for Washington State.
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and independent judgment capabilities.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of equipment up to 35 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting. The position requires normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens managed through safety protocols.
