Job Title:Respiratory Therapist - Evenings
Location:Newark, DE
Shift: 6PM - 6AM
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our growing healthcare team. This role focuses on providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in a residential facility setting. Full-time candidates are preferred, with an opening for evening nightshifts (6PM - 6AM).
This position offers the opportunity to work with medically fragile children who require transitional, long-term, and/or palliative care, supporting them in achieving the best possible quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care and assessments to residents each shift.
  • Participate in care planning and contribute to policy, procedure, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with medical transports, school sessions, and play therapy activities as needed.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary education, including mock codes and tracheostomy care training for team members and responsible parties.
  • Deliver parent/responsible party training and assess their learning needs under supervision.
  • Perform routine respiratory treatments, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in daily interaction with residents, including conversation, play, and physical support.
  • Participate in facility committees such as Admissions, Field Trip, and Education Committees.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an active and valid license in Delaware (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to conduct oral presentations.
