The Marketing Manager is responsible for protecting, elevating, and executing The Chanler’s brand across all guest-facing channels. This role oversees digital marketing, social media, public relations, reputation management, partnerships, collateral production, and seasonal campaign development while ensuring that every communication reflects the hotel’s standards and identity.

The Marketing Manager serves as the central point of coordination for marketing initiatives across all departments, supporting hotel operations, food and beverage, weddings and events, guest experiences, and luxury travel partnerships. The position requires equal strengths in strategy, creativity, project management, and execution.

Essential Responsibilities

Brand Management & Strategy

  • Develop and execute annual marketing strategies, campaigns, and seasonal activations.
  • Maintain and evolve The Chanler’s brand standards across all platforms and guest touchpoints.
  • Manage marketing budgets, agency relationships, and advertising initiatives.
  • Lead marketing efforts surrounding seasonal programming, holidays, special events, partnerships, and awards.
  • Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue.

Social Media & Content

  • Manage all social media channels, including content creation, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement.
  • Oversee photography and video content across the property.

  • Coordinate influencer collaborations, partnerships, and user-generated content opportunities.
  • Manage paid social campaigns and digital advertising.

Public Relations & Partnerships

  • Serve as the liaison with public relations agencies, media partners, destination organizations, and luxury travel networks.
  • Coordinate press stays, influencer visits, editorial opportunities, and partnership activations.
  • Maintain relationships with organizations including Discover Newport, Visit Rhode Island, Virtuoso, American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Michelin, and other luxury travel partners.
  • Track partnership deliverables, contract obligations, and renewal timelines.

Reputation & Guest Communications

  • Oversee guest review management across Google, TripAdvisor, Guestfolio, and other review platforms.
  • Draft and coordinate responses to guest feedback.
  • Ensure operational follow-up on service recovery issues identified through reviews.
  • Maintain guest-facing messaging and automated communications.

Website & Digital Platforms

  • Oversee website content, digital accuracy, SEO initiatives, and online guest information.
  • Manage updates to business listings, Google profiles, destination profiles, and third-party platforms.
  • Coordinate with digital agencies and vendors on website enhancements and campaigns.
  • Maintain marketing analytics and reporting dashboards.
  • Manage guest journey optimization.

Creative & Collateral Production

  • Create and maintain menus, signage, event collateral, guest materials, promotional pieces, and branded assets.
  • Support weddings, corporate programs, food and beverage operations, concierge services, and human resources with design and communication needs.
  • Manage photography and video libraries and ensure departments use current assets.
  • Maintain printed materials, guest guides, maps, brochures, and experience collateral.

Hospitality Marketing Operations

  • Manage marketing support for dining experiences, seasonal activations, holiday programming, and special events.
  • Coordinate OpenTable configurations, restaurant experiences, and guest-facing booking information.
  • Maintain concierge materials, experience guides, amenity information, and guest communications.
  • Support philanthropic initiatives and community engagement efforts.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and report monthly marketing performance indicators, including website traffic, engagement, guest sentiment, email performance, and campaign results.
  • Analyze trends and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Monitor brand positioning and competitive activity within the luxury hospitality market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in marketing, preferably within luxury hospitality, travel, or luxury consumer brands.
  • Strong understanding of social media, digital advertising, SEO, analytics, email marketing, and reputation management.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and external partners.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with marketing and design platforms, including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social scheduling tools, Google Analytics, Guestfolio, OpenTable, and content management systems.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
