Pay: $28-$33 per hour (Actual pay will be based on experience, skills and internal equity)

Location: Springfield, MO

The Role

The Application Specialist 2 is a senior inside technical support role with a primary focus on sanitary and hygienic valve applications. This role is inside / office-based, highly customer-facing, and deeply involved in ERP, quoting, and order accuracy. It does not perform field installation or service work.


Application Specialist 2 team members spend a significant portion of their time supporting customers by phone and email, while partnering closely with inside sales and internal teams.

    What You’ll Do

    Customer & Technical Support

    • Act as a technical specialist for sanitary and hygienic valve applications
    • Support customers with valve selection, troubleshooting, replacements, and application validation
    • Interpret valve specifications, schematics, and technical documentation
    • Perform basic sizing and application validation for standard valve use cases
    • Communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

    Orders, Quotes & ERP Accountability

    • Review and support quotes and orders in ERP systems to ensure application accuracy
    • Enter, review, or correct application-related order details
    • Clearly document assumptions, deviations, or non-standard conditions
    • Partner with inside sales to resolve application-related issues

    Team & Knowledge Contribution

    • Serve as a technical resource for inside sales and less experienced specialists
    • Identify recurring application issues and support training or documentation

    Education & Training

    • High school diploma required; Technical Certification or college credits desired; technical/mechanical emphasis. preferred.

    Experience

    • 4-8 years of relevant experience in a comparable application specialist, technical support, valve specialist, or inside technical sales role. Direct experience with sanitary / hygienic valves in the same or a similar industry is strongly preferred. Strong candidates will also have customer-facing technical support experience and comfort working in ERP-based quote and order workflows.
    • Equivalent experience to progression from Application Specialist 1 may be considered.
    • Experience in the hygienic/sanitary process equipment industry, preferred.

    Work Environment / Physical Requirements
