Sales Director - edYOU

Los Angeles, CA • On-site

Residents Medical
Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools • 51 - 200 employees

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision

Re-posted 4 days ago

Job description

Medical residents across the country are already using ChatGPT to study for boards and prep for rotations - entirely outside their institution's awareness. It hallucinates with confidence, ignores curriculum, and leaves no audit trail. edYOU is the governed alternative program leadership has been waiting for, and we need a builder-seller to bring it to market.

This is a rare seat: a sales leadership role at the intersection of the AI transformation of medical education and a healthcare workforce crisis projected to hit a 124,000-physician shortfall by 2033. You won't be filling a quota against an established category - you'll be defining one, backed by a validated partnership with the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology (16 institutions, ~400 active licenses) and IRB-approved research showing a 10% learning improvement over traditional methods.

Why This Role

  • Own the market. Sell edYOU directly to Deans, DIOs, Program Directors, and Department Heads at GME programs and academic medical centers nationwide - and build the professional society partnership model that ASCP has already proven works.
  • Build from a position of strength. Lean on Residents Medical, our sister company with 20+ years of trusted relationships across the GME ecosystem, to open doors and shorten sales cycles.
  • Shape the function, not just the number. As the first dedicated sales hire, you'll architect the playbook, the tech stack, and the team - while personally closing the foundational accounts that prove the model.
  • Sell something that matters. Better-trained physicians mean better patient care. This is a mission you can stand behind.

What You'll Do

Split roughly evenly between building the engine and driving it:

  • Architect a repeatable sales playbook for the medical education buyer journey, from institutional pain point to closed deal.
  • Stand up the sales tech stack, KPIs, and reporting cadence from scratch.
  • Build value-based collateral for Provosts, DIOs, Department Heads, and Program Directors.
  • Design and run the society partnership motion - there are 650+ professional medical societies globally to approach.
  • Prospect, demo, negotiate, and close GME institutions and academic medical centers directly.
  • Recruit and mentor the sales team as the function scales.
  • Be the voice of the market back to product and leadership.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of B2B sales experience with a track record of exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
  • Startup or early-stage experience - ideally as an early sales hire who built process from zero.
  • A genuine player-coach mentality: equally comfortable running a demo and building a CRM workflow.
  • Confidence selling to senior academic and clinical leadership - Deans, DIOs, Provosts.
  • Bonus points for HealthTech/EdTech sales experience, GME/ACGME familiarity, or an existing network in academic medicine.

Benefits

What We Offer

     Competitive base plus performance-based commission

Full health, dental, and vision coverage

The chance to define how AI enters medical education - backed by 20 years of established trust in the GME ecosystem

If you're energized by the idea of selling something the market doesn't yet know it needs - and doing it as a trusted advisor, not a vendor - we want to hear from you.
