The Axel Group is seeking a Project Engineer for our client, a growing multi-disciplinary engineering and architecture firm located in Bucks County, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer interested in residential structural design to join a collaborative team supporting projects for some of the nation's largest homebuilders.

This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in Structural Engineering who enjoy the design side of engineering and want to gain hands on experience working on single family residential projects from concept through construction documentation. The position is fully in office and offers strong mentorship, professional growth opportunities, and a flexible work schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Develop structural designs and prepare construction documents for single family residential projects, including roof, floor, and foundation plans.
  • Prepare structural details, specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Review drawings, permit submissions, and plan packages for accuracy and code compliance.
  • Review shop drawings and assist with structural field repairs as needed.
  • Work extensively in AutoCAD to create and modify construction documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, drafters, project managers, and builders throughout all phases of project development.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines.
  • Support the design and construction process from concept through final documentation.
  • Maintain professionalism and strong communication with clients and internal team members.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or from an ABET-accredited program.
  • FE/EIT certification or actively pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
  • Knowledge of residential structural systems, construction methods, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in residential design and structural engineering.
