Position Description
AUI is searching for a Senior Project Manager that will play a key role in overseeing and managing a variety of projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. This person should possess key qualities like leadership, business acumen, assertiveness, expert-level communication written and verbal, be able to work through conflict, and has a strong sense of integrity. No need to apply if you are not up for the challenge!
1) Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and overseeing of job setup and project execution
  • Travel to project sites to compare progress to schedule, compare actual versus estimated cost, check compliance with plans and specifications, review any problems, and verify the quality of work being performed meets contract specifications and AUI guidelines

2) Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Foster team camaraderie by mentoring, managing, and motivating the project team
  • Monitor and enforce AUIs Safety Program

3) Client Interaction:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions in a clear and timely manner.

4) Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Implement effective risk management practices to minimize project disruptions.

5) Financial Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, in coordination with the finance department.

6) Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to meet project specifications and standards.
  • Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and safety guidelines
  • Manage the project closeout process to settle all financial obligations, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the client.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Project management or similar degree and/or at least 3 years of Senior PM experience.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Able to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Electrical knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Work daily with field Supervisors and office.
  • Must have the ability to be on-site.
