Job description

Phipps Houses is one of the nation’s oldest and largest not-for-profit developer/owners of affordable housing. It is a multi-faceted real estate organization, involved in the development, finance, construction and asset management of new and rehabilitated multi-family housing for low to middle income New Yorkers. Through its subsidiary, Phipps Houses Services, Inc., it conducts residential and some commercial property management, and it’s tax exempt affiliate, Phipps Neighborhoods, provides human services to its development communities.

This is a Part Time role: Sunday 12am - 8:30am and Monday 12am - 8:30am.   The PT Doorman will also provide coverage for vacations, sick days, etc.

Position Overview:

The Doorman will greet, admit and log all guests, visitors, and workers currently on the property. He/she will keep track of residents. In addition, will receive and distribute packages, and monitor security camera in vestibule.  

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the lobby and front of building, lounge and elevators
  • Sweep the sidewalk 2 feet from the curb first thing in the morning
  • Snow removal as needed throughout shift
  • Water the plants and hose down the sidewalk as needed
  • Clean entrance door glass
  • Pick up debris from lobby
  • Vacuum lobby rugs
  • Make sure mailroom is tidy and package cabinet is tidy and locked
  • Wipe desk and credenza in lobby
  • Vacuum lounge
  • Clean kitchen
  • Wipe down piano and tables in the lounge
  • Clean and polish door saddles (weekly)

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
