Residential Construction Estimator

Location: Houston, Texas (In-office, no remote option)
Salary: Competitive base pay + Annual Performance Bonus (DOE)
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Houston, TX. In this vital role, you’ll help shape successful residential projects by preparing precise and competitive cost estimates that keep projects efficient, profitable, and on track.
If you have a strong grasp of construction methods, materials, and labor costs—and thrive on turning complex details into accurate budgets—this is a rewarding opportunity to grow with a stable, expanding company.
What You’ll Do
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare detailed material take-offs, labor estimates, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, unit pricing, and project budgets for management and clients.
  • Track project costs and provide timely updates throughout bidding and construction phases.
  • Stay current with industry trends, building codes, and best practices to ensure top-tier performance and compliance.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in residential construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of residential building systems, materials, and methods.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A sharp eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, but not required).
