Job description

One of the Southeast's top design studios for contemporary residential architecture is looking for a talented junior architect who wants to use their range of skills to help to really move the office forward to the next level. This position offers considerably broader project involvement than is typical in a larger practice. The successful candidate will work directly with the principal and will participate in design, documentation, consultant coordination, client communication, detailing, permitting, and construction administration. We offer as much design opportunity on projects as someone can reasonably handle with potential future opportunity for firm partnership. We guide but do not dictate design and prefer collaborative guidance and welcome those can combine strong passion and design skills to shine.

Applicants must possess the following at minimum to be considered:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an architecture firm setting
  • General familiarity with the logistics and standards of putting together a set of construction documents
  • A passion for modern/contemporary design, even if not experience
  • Proficiency with Autocad, Revit, and Sketchup
  • Proficiency with at least one rendering platform and moderate rendering skills
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and other graphics programs to produce high-quality client presentations as well as Microsoft Office apps

And while we do not expect that someone will possess all of the qualities below, so lack of one or more does not necessarily disqualify, the ideal candidate would have many of the following additional skills:

  • 5-15 years experience practicing architecture
  • Single-family residential experience
  • Strong design and presentation skills
  • Experience with high-quality presentation/renderings
  • Ability to bring design intent/details into buildable construction details/drawings
  • Graphic design skills (with Adobe Illustrator or similar) to help support the firm's marketing and graphics efforts.
  • Proficiency and desire to assist in the firm's social marketing presence and website maintenance.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills

This is a full-time, in-office position and you must live in the Atlanta area- though we may consider offering remote work 1-3 days per week after an initial training period. Candidates outside Atlanta who are interested in relocating are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa support and must not require sponsorship now or in the future.

We apologize in advance but please note that because we are a very small operation and do not have a dedicated HR person, our time is very limited and we may not be able to make a personal response to every submission.
