Job description

Summary: Responsible for demonstrating and promoting SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others (residents, families, and associates) in the same way we would like to be treated, and under direct supervision providing a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties while maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Follows established cleaning schedule.*
  2. Completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas.*
  3. Follows established schedule for "deep cleaning" of resident rooms.*
  4. Cleans administrative offices as scheduled.*
  5. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.*
  6. Cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request.*
  7. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents.*
  8. Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.*
  9. Responds promptly and courteously to resident's, families, and visitors requests for assistance.*
  10. Speaks to/interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.*
  11. Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.*
  12. Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families visitors and associates.*
  13. Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits.*
  14. Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.*
  15. Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.*
  16. Knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations.*
  17. Is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.*
  18. Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.*
  19. Always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures.*
  20. Complies with attendance and call off policy.*
  21. Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings.*
  22. Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy.*
  23. Refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor.*
  24. Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations.*
  25. Provides "hands-on" assistance when requested or needed by nursing staff while working in the community.
  26. Participates in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
  27. Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
  28. Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.
  29. Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested.
