Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Janus Hotels and Resorts, Inc. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
Position Summary
The Sales & Events Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Area Director of Sales & Marketing and Event Manager in the successful coordination of group and event business, client communications, and administrative operations for the Courtyard and Residence Inn Stamford Downtown.
This is a client-facing position requiring exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships, and takes pride in delivering seamless experiences from the initial contract through group departure.
Essential Responsibilities
Sales Support
  • Prepare and distribute contracts, proposals, and group agreements.
  • Generate reservation booking links and manage room block setup.
  • Process rooming lists and reservation updates within Marriott systems.
  • Assist with client correspondence and reservation inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate sales files and account documentation.
  • Support the Sales Department with prospecting initiatives and administrative projects.

Event & Group Coordination
  • Assist ADOS and EM with Group Resumes and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for internal distribution.
  • Coordinate billing instructions, VIP amenities, rooming lists, and group details with hotel departments.
  • Communicate directly with clients to collect final event specifications.
  • Assist with pre-convention meetings and group turnover processes.
  • Support the Event Manager and Front Office Department with event logistics and execution as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Additional Lead catcher for RFP requests
  • Assist ADOS in weekly and monthly reporting
  • Coordinate amenity requests, welcome letters, and VIP arrivals.
  • Assist with department projects, presentations, and special events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external guests.

Additional Responsibilities
  • As the needs of the hotel continue to evolve, this position is expected to maintain a flexible, team-oriented approach and may be asked to assist with additional projects and operational initiatives beyond those listed above.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by the Area General Manager, Area Director of Sales & Marketing, or other members of the Executive Leadership Team to support the overall success of the hotels.

Qualifications
  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in Marriott systems (Delphi, FOSSE, CI/TY, or MARSHA) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional, positive, and guest-focused demeanor.
