Job description

The City of O'Fallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Dance Instructor. Are you looking for a part-time opportunity where you can use your dance know-how and skills in decision making, problem solving and dealing with the public? Our Dance Instructors enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment and earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $21.00 hourly.

As part of our Recreation Department, this position plays an important role in providing dance instruction to groups and individuals. Generally, you'll teach a few classes each week, including helping out when a substitute teacher is needed.

As a Dance Instructor, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up facilities for programs, events, games, and activities
  • Providing information and top notice customer service to patrons
  • Researching and proposing new programs, as well as providing input on improving existing ones
  • Developing program curriculum and schedules

We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable in dance elements and skills, including acrobats and tumbling. This person should be comfortable leading a group and teaching individuals. Availability to work evenings during class times is required.
