Walmart, a Fortune 1 company, is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Senior Analyst supporting our sales and use tax compliance and audit team. About Sales and Use Tax at Walmart
The sales and use tax team plays a critical role in Walmart’s ability to navigate the complex landscape of transaction taxes, ensuring compliance and positive customer experience. The complexity and scale of taxation at Walmart encompasses our ecommerce business, brick & mortar stores, other business ventures, and beyond. As a Senior Analyst, Tax (Sales and Use Tax) you will use your skills and knowledge to perform compliance and audit activities such as:
  • Support sales and use tax compliance, including preparing data files for return preparation and reviewing returns prepared by a third-party vendor;
  • Respond to sales tax inquiries raised by taxing jurisdictions;
  • Participate in the monthly accounting close process through the preparation of journal entries to accurately account for sales and use taxes;
  • Assist in transforming tax processes through automation;
  • Obtain, organize, and validate data to support audit defense;
  • Maintain audit tracking and portfolio analytics for communication of audit results to managements;
  • Track remediation activities for issues identified in audits.

What you’ll bring:
  • 4+ years of indirect tax experience in industry and/or consulting
  • Advanced degree or certification related to Taxation
  • Strong tax research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage large amounts of electronic data
