Job Description

Are you passionate about developing intelligent embedded systems while working closely with cutting-edge RF and microwave technology? Teledyne Paradise Datacom is looking for an Embedded Systems & RF Firmware Engineer to help design and deliver high-power RF products, including Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs).

In this role, you'll contribute across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through firmware development, hardware integration, testing, manufacturing support, and customer field solutions. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to create robust, high-performance systems used in demanding communications and defense-related applications.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware and software for RF and microwave products

  • Design and support embedded control systems for amplifier and subsystem monitoring

  • Integrate firmware with hardware components including sensors, detectors, power supplies, and cooling systems

  • Implement communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet

  • Develop fault monitoring, health monitoring, diagnostics, and data logging capabilities

  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and validate firmware in real-time embedded environments

  • Create automated test solutions using languages such as Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW

  • Support board bring-up, system integration, qualification testing, and manufacturing activities

  • Document software architecture, test procedures, and system configurations

  • Provide technical support during product release and field deployments

What You Need
  • Embedded firmware development experience using C/C++ and/or Python - required

  • Knowledge of microcontrollers and real-time embedded systems - required

  • Experience implementing hardware communication protocols - required

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills - required

  • Technical documentation and communication skills - required

  • Experience with FPGAs and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) - preferred

  • Familiarity with RF or microwave systems and components - preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, plus 3-7 years of relevant experience - required

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% domestically and internationally

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
