Job description

About the Position
The Research Intern provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team coordinating research activities, this may include data collection and analysis, and management of other research activities as assigned.
About the Project
The Research Intern will provide intermittent support on an as-needed basis for a preclinical research study focused on developing and validating a non-invasive biosensor system for early diagnosis and management of intracranial and hemodynamics. The intern will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the team to assist with data collection, data analysis, and documentation.
Salary Range
$20.00/HOUR. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate's related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Qualifications

  • Previous science and engineering background strongly preferred
  • Computer skills includingMATLAB and Python strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory experiment and biomedical engineering knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professionaldemeanor
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Prepares progress reports
  • Maintains and updates files of all applicable regulatory documentation for preclinical research (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Executes and maintains research project, including data collection and analysis
  • Manages study documentation to include accurate and timely data management
  • Complies with all the rules and regulations as applicable to assigned duty station
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with the research team, The Geneva Foundation, and the study sponsor
  • Creates and adheres to a data quality and quality assurance plan
  • Assists with the initial coding and data entry of structured questionnaires and datacollection tools, when applicable
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing basic study related procedures as required
  • Schedules and attends regular team meetings
