Locum MD (Medical Doctor, DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Cardiology)

Description

 This contract, on-site position offers physicians a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in a dynamic clinical environment.

As an Associate-level Cardiology locum tenens physician, you will work within a collaborative Medical Practice setting, providing expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a wide range of heart and vascular conditions. Your clinical expertise will directly contribute to our mission of delivering accessible, patient-centered cardiovascular care to the community. This on-site role is ideal for MDsand DOs who are looking o bring meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility and focus of contract-based assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive cardiology consultations for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and other relevant cardiac studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for conditions such as hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
  • Provide on-site evaluations and ongoing management in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care settings as needed.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, nurses, and specialists to coordinate continuity of care.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain timely, compliant medical records.
  • Educate patients and families on cardiovascular health, treatment options, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Respond promptly to clinical needs and support urgent cardiac interventions when required.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing cardiology services and patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with the latest cardiology guidelines, research, and evidence-based treatment protocols.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, as specified in the position title.
  • Associate-level experience in cardiology, with demonstrated skill in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions.
  • Current, unrestricted medical licensure appropriate for practicing in the assigned location.
  • Proficiency in interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiology diagnostic studies.
  • Strong clinical decision-making abilities for both routine and urgent cardiac care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently as a locum tenens physician while collaborating effectively within the practice.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and accurate medical documentation standards.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate, evidence-based medical practice.
  • Flexibility and reliability to manage on-site contract assignments and adapt to varying clinical demands.

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts available at two facilities
