Job Description
Alabama State University, College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics invites applications for the Biomedical Research and Training Coordinator. The selected individual will serve as the primary contact, and the department's grants manager, coordinator of career opportunities and activities for biological science students, and serve as a liaison with outside organizations and companies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the the grants manager and coordinator of grant related activities
  • Coordinate departmental research, training, and student development programs
  • Support departmental operations, administrative activities, and student recruitment
  • Coordinate departmental events, seminars, workshops, and special programs
  • Assist with program assessment, reporting, and related activities
  • Advise student organizations, assist with membership recruitment, and document student activities for assessment reports
  • Assist faculty with recruiting student and managing applications for departmental programs (VCOM, OCCM, Ross Medical, ASU Vibes, etc.) and related departmental initiatives
  • Maintain data on student recruitment, retention, graduation, and post graduate outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison among students, faculty, staff, and external partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of appropriate training and/or direct work related experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree field. A degree in a science-based field preferred, however, education, administration or other organization based fields may be considered. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, with computing proficiency, and demonstrated leadership abilities.
