POSITION SUMMARY:ย 

This is a temporary seasonal position that participates inย the corn breedingย operational and testing activitiesย in Champaign.ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:ย 

  • Taking notes in yield trials and nurseries as directed by the corn breedersย andย line and hybrid associatesย 
  • Lead and participate in the corn nursery pollinationsย ensuring high qualityย and quantityย 
  • Other duties as assignedย related to corn breedingย 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:ย 

  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employerย 
  • Eligible minors under 18 must have an employment certificateย 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:ย 

  • Ability to work Monday โ€“ Saturday as neededย 
  • Punctual & reliable โ€“ report to work on time and regular attendanceย 
  • Ability to work as a part of a teamย 
  • Ability to follow directions and safety rules carefullyย 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:ย 

  • Ability to lift up to 25ย lbsย 
  • Ability to work extended hours outdoors and walk in corn fields (regular breaks and water breaks provided)ย 
  • May travel occasionally to additional fields located away from stationย ย
