Job Overview
The Scientific Research Associate will work across Virscio to review study protocols, support and set up study specific electronic data capture systems (Provantis, Excel, Word), manage study scheduling, pull out and organize data to enable downstream analysis, QC draft reports, and draft SOPS and report templates. The Scientific Research Associate may work with Sponsors to achieve study-specific deliverables and timelines.
Your main stakeholders will include Pathology, Histology, Molecular, and Ophthalmology. Your collaborators will include Data Management, Quality Assurance, Study Coordinators, Study Managers, Finance, and the Veterinary Team.
Work Location
Strong preference for individuals committed to working at least 4 days a week at our facility in New Haven, CT; remote worker considered for the right candidate.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities
1. None
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Study Design: Review study protocols to ensure execution plans are aligned with research objectives and best practices. Set up studies in electronic data capture systems. (Pathology studies).
2. Study Execution: Work closely across Virscio to manage study readouts to meet data delivery deadlines. Work closely with the Study Coordinator, Scientists, Study Directors and Functional Heads to organize and execute analyses in accordance with GLPs. Proactively organize protocols, results and templates to enable seamless information sharing and data integration.
3. Study Reporting: Review draft reports and tables to check for quality and accuracy. Work closely with Scientists, Technicians, Study Coordinators and Business Development to organize analyses and reporting in accordance with GLP and contractual obligations.
4. Regulatory & Administrative Support: Contribution and updating of SOPs. Contribute to maintenance of facility GLPs and AAALAC credentials.
5. Scientific Communications: Network with external colleagues to build confidence in our capabilities.
Qualifications
1. Education level/Certifications/Licensures
  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field required.

2. Experience
  • BS/BA and 5+ years' experience working in a pathology laboratory or molecular laboratory interacting with histologists and pathologists.
  • CRO experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of histology lab processes, workflows, and reporting in GLP and non-GLP preclinical studies.
  • Experience working with Anatomic Pathology electronic data capture modules (Provantis, Concentriq, Visiopharm, etc.) including setting up individual studies, generating reports and tabulated data.

3. Specific competencies
  • Demonstrated proficient use of AI leading to process improvements and refinements in resource management.
  • Proficiency using business related (MS Office/Teams, Skype, Zoom, etc.) and pathology-specific (Provantis, Concentriq, Visiopharm, etc.) software systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong self-discipline and ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful, enthusiastic, and collaborative.
