Crescent Textile Solutions converts fibers into yarns sold to manufacturers of knitted and woven products. The textile operations performed by Crescent Textile Solutions include blending, carding, spinning, winding, doubling, and twisting. In addition, Crescent's wholly owned subsidiary, Owen Glove Lining, manufactures knitted fleece linings for the safety, apparel and sporting goods industries. Fibers converted into yarns by Crescent Textile Solutions include wool, alpaca, angora, nylon, acrylic, polyester, Nomex, Kevlar and Kanecaron modacrylic. Our technical staff regularly participate in the research and development efforts of our customers to understand their needs and provide guidance in making material recommendations. The Production Support Employee is responsible for performing a variety of material handling functions between production departments to ensure efficient operations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Move baskets of yarn and bobbins
  • Bring spun yarn to scale, weighing and recording weight of yarn on tickets
  • Move yarn to the winding area and return empty bobbins to the spinning area
  • Load spinning frames with spools of roving
  • Strip spools of any left over roving and place in proper container
  • Transport trucks of empty spools back to the carding area and return with full trucks when available
  • Tag and box up any stock as needed, recording information on weight sheet and store boxes in the warehouse
  • Clean throughout department
  • Collect and move waste to designated area
  • Oil spinning frames and perform minor maintenance
  • Assist machine operators in Winding and Spinning Departments as needed.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and notify shift supervisor immediately of any hazards detected, any near miss accidents and any accidents
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed
