We are searching for the best talent for a R&D Compliance Engineer based in Jacksonville, Florida.

Purpose: Performs a variety of compliance and facilities related assignments utilizing a wide range of knowledge and project management skills. Works at an advanced technical expertise level involving planning development, process/procedure implementation, and compliance management. Reviews progress and evaluates results of multiple projects across various disciplines. Takes a leading position in activities involved with internal and external customers to include regulatory agencies.

Leads specific EH&S compliance activities, as assigned by management, within the R&D organization ensuring conformance to J&J and regulatory requirements. Acts as a backup R&D Liaison in some building related services/issues with facilities and other organizations.

Resolves and manages technical and tactical operational problems. Establishes key operating practices for department/project in areas of responsibilities, ensuring cross-functional synergy.

Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in Credo-based decision-making.

You will be responsible for:

  • Work in coordination with the JJVC EH&S staff, Facilities Planning and Facilities Maintenance to ensure that R&D business needs are met.
  • Directs and monitors compliance for the R&D organization to specifically assigned JJVC engineering and operations related SGOPs.
  • Develops and implements new programs, processes and procedures to improve compliance within the R&D organizations.
  • Participates as a key team member on R&D engineer projects to address potential compliance, engineering and/or facility concerns.
  • Uses project management experience to help organize, execute, recommend and control facility related projects within the R&D Building.
  • Assist with new equipment qualifications, equipment specification development (HECPs, SOPs, JSAs, EJAs, etc.) and calibration/maintenance procedures.
  • Monitors, coordinates, and supports R&D Building services activities by working with our contractor service providers.
  • Provide training or presentations as required to R&D to maintain/improve current compliance, building services, and EH&S Culture.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

A pre-identified candidate has been identified; however, all applications will be considered.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree - with two years of Engineering experience or 10+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Understanding of OSHA machinery related compliance regulations.
  • Tactical regulatory and business knowledge to drive compliance improvement process.
  • Broad based technical knowledge and skills in diverse areas of business (e.g. operations, laboratories, research & development, drug development process).
  • Proven leadership, problem solving skills and project management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

The position is located in the R&D building of the JJVC, Jacksonville campus.

Occasional travel may be required.
